Atollo is an exploration game built on the PICO-8 platform, where players explore a procedurally generated world aboard their ship. As they navigate the seas, players fight aggressive pirates and interact with islands collecting stamps. The development of Atollo constantly requires overcoming PICO-8’s strict CPU and memory limitations, challenging me to optimize algorithms and systems to ensure seamless gameplay. By leveraging these constraints, I’m creating a visually engaging experience with complex procedural animations that bring the game’s dynamic world to life.
